SBI 4500 PO Written Exam - Date Changed

State Bank of India(SBI) has postponed the Written exam for the recruitment of Probationary Officers to April 18th 2010. SBI is to fill up 2500 PO & 2000 PO (Rural Business) posts through this recruitment,for which the Online registration/ Application is currently open.The last date to apply online is March 2nd, 2010.

As per previous SBI recruitment notification for Probationary Officers, the written exam was to be held on April 11th 2010.Since the Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) for admissions to IIT`s also falls on the same date, SBI has postponed its test by a week, as suggested by HRD ministry.

Hence the common written test for SBI PO recruitment - will be held on April 18th, 2010 (18.04.2010). State Bank of India announced this decision on their official website here.

Q: I have appeared for SBI exams previously.Am I eligible for this PO recruitment?

SBI 4500 PO Exam Pattern, Previous Questions & Books  

  1. The written test for SBI PO Recruitment (2000 RB & 2500 PO) is to take place on April 11th 2010.This is a common test for both the positions, so all candidates irrespective of the applied position, will have the exam on the same date.We have analyzed the pattern, selection process & books of the SBI PO exam.
  2. Process : The selection process is similar to other previous SBI PO recruitment & has the following phases – 1) Written Test (250 marks) 2) GD & Interview (50 marks)

    3) Final Selection. Let us see what these phases consist of, in detail

    Written Exam – A common written test with a duration of 3 hours, for both posts will be conducted for 250 marks (Objective –200 marks & Descriptive –50 marks). All candidates will take both tests on the same day itself. The Objective test has -

    1) Test of English Language 2) Test of General Awareness, Marketing & Computers

  3. 3) Test of Data Analysis & Interpretation 4) Test of Reasoning (High Level)

    The Descriptive test is for 1 hr & will be evaluated only for candidates who have scored high percent in each objective test & have overall 40%.The qualifying marks for this test 40% (20 marks) is also necessary to proceed to final phase.

GD & Interview : The candidates with high percentile in Written tests will be called for Group Discussion & Interview. Around 7500 candidates for PO & 6000 for PO(RB) can be expected to get a call for interview, as per SBI recruitment notice.Those who secure minimum 40% of the total 50 marks will be considered for Final selection.

SBI to recruit 30000 Clerks & 5000 Officers in 2010  

State Bank of India will be soon recruiting for nearly 30,000 Clerical & 5000 Officer positions to fill the vacancies created by employee retirements & addition of branches.This was recently announced by Mr.Anup Banerji, Deputy Managing Director- SBI.

New Branches :According to the press release, State Bank of India recruited 22,000 employees & added opened 600 branches during 2009-10 taking the total number of branches to 12000. SBI is looking to open around 1000 new branches in the fiscal year 2010-11 across India, as the bank eyes an annual growth rate of 25 percent in the next few years. Hence with the opening of newer branches, a considerable number of employees would have to appointed.

Recruitments : Mr.Banerji also said that, SBI will soon announce recruitments for around 30,000 Clerks & 5000 Officer openings.Of these proposed 5000 openings, 2000 positions would be mainly created for rural banking.article posted at www.bankexamsindia.com

** for SBI 4500 PO vacancies , ‘General category candidates who have appeared on 4 occasions in the recruitment exam of POs for SBI are not eligible to apply’. For Gen(PWD – 4 chances), OBC & OBC (PWD) (7 chances) candidates, chances are likely to counted from the current exam.

State Bank of India - 4500 PO Recruitment Starts  

State Bank of India back with yet another huge recruitment of 4500 Probationary Officers.As part of the aggressive expansion plans, SBI is to open around 1000 new branches in the next 2 years.Inorder to fill these vacancies ,State Bank of India has come up with this job notification.

Post - Vacancies - Payscale:
1) Probationary Officers - 2500 posts - Rs.10,000 - Rs.18,240
2) Probationary Officers (Rural Business) - 2000 posts - Rs.10,000 - Rs.18,240

Eligibility : Candidates interested to apply for State Bank of India PO exam ,

* Age limit : 21 - 30 yrs as on 28.02.2010 (relaxation applies)

* CA/ CWA/ CFA/ CS candidates must have passed in these exams & should have 60% in 12th std

Selection :SBI will have a common written test for both positions & would have Objective & Descriptive test as a combined paper for 3 Hrs. Objective section will be for 200 marks (2 Hrs) & has the following sections ,

i) Test of English Language

iii) Test of Data Analysis & Interpretation
iv) Test of Reasoning

* The pass mark will be decided by bank,but candidates should score minimum 40% marks in both test for merit list entry.
